August 10, 2007 <br />Quality Assurance Plan Version 12 <br />SOPAD018.08.07.12 Page 23 of 96 <br />4.8 Instrument Operator <br />Instrument operators report directly to the respective Production Supervisor. The position involves the <br />analysis of various matrices for trace level contaminants using specialized and technical instrumentation, and <br />each operator must be capable of performing all job duties in an accurate and proficient manner. Education <br />will be verified by providing a copy of a college transcript or diploma, which is maintained in the employee's <br />personnel file. Experience is verified by ACZ's CFO prior to completing the hiring process (verbal or <br />documented verification provided by each reference listed on a resume or application is acceptable). The <br />operator must demonstrate understanding of related theory, mathematics, analytical instrumentation and data <br />interpretation. This work is predominantly intellectual and involves the continuous use of professional and <br />sound judgment. The employee must meet or exceed all requirements for generation of litigation-quality data <br />and must also continue to demonstrate increased proficiency regarding the interpretation of the data as well as <br />the operation and troubleshooting of the assigned instrument(s). These improvements should be attainable <br />I through ongoing efforts in-house as well as through specialized instruction at off-site locations. Prerequisites <br />regarding education and experience, as well as job responsibilities and performance expectations are described <br />in FRMAD059. Exceptions pertaining to experience or education will be made on a case-by-case basis. <br />Qualifications: <br />• BA or BS in Chemistry or related science or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree <br />Prior laboratory experience is preferred but is not required. <br />• Successful completion of training by supervisor or proficient instrument operator <br />4.8.1 Laboratory Analyst [Technician] <br />The laboratory technician reports directly to the respective Production Supervisor. The position involves <br />analysis of various matrices using appropriate analytical techniques and support equipment as well as <br />' preparation of samples for instrument analyses. Each technician must be capable of performing all job <br />duties in an accurate and proficient manner. Education will be verified by providing a copy of a college <br />transcript or diploma, which is maintained in the employee's personnel file. Experience is verified by <br />ACZ's CFO prior to completing the hiring process (verbal or documented verification provided by each <br />reference listed on a resume or application is acceptable). The technician must demonstrate understanding <br />of related principles and mathematics, must possess common sense and mechanical skills, and must seek <br />professional judgment from the supervisor as necessary. The employee must meet or exceed all <br />requirements for generation of litigation-quality data as well as sample preparation tasks and routine <br />analyses, and must also continue to demonstrate continuous improvements. These improvements should be <br />attainable through ongoing training efforts in-house as well as through training opportunities at off-site <br />locations. Prerequisites regarding education and experience, as well as job responsibilities and performance <br />expectations are described in FRMAD058.
