ORG. STIPS. 22 & 26
Dear Jim,
Inclosed is the report from Geo-Hydro and our updated maps showing
the locations of the completed test sections . We have taken
Geo-Hydros six suggested test section types and combined them
into four test sections;
1. ,:,SECTION 1. High soil cut road
1. '
SECTION 2. High rock cut - mine bench
,,,,,::::::::SECTION 3 . High thick fill road
2.
SECTION 4 . High thick fill mine bench
3. SECTION 5. High thin sliver fill
4 . SECTION 6 . Severe erosion area
All of these four test sections were completed this fall at
#4 Mine.
SECTION 1 . Combines the Geo-Hydro sections 1 & 2. The location
at #4 Mine was well suited as it included a road and mine bench
cut above the old #4 Mine lower bin pad . (See MCR crossections
& location map for all sections. )
SECTION 2 . Combines the Geo-Hydro sections 3 & 4 . the location
also at the #4Mine lower bin pad was ideally suited for a high
thick fill.
SECTION 3. Geo-Hydro 5 is located just east of the #4 Mine lower
bin pad on the edge of the truck haul road.
SECTION 4 . Geo-Hydro 6 is located on the north side of the #4
Mine lower bin pad. It is also the north slope vegetation test
plot. The hillside was severally eroded before being scarified
by a dragline. The larger rill & gullies were filled with rocks
and mulch , then the entire hillside (150*100) was seeded, mulched
and covered with netting.
