This report partially satisfies stipulations No. 6
and 8.
The stipulations directed Mid-Continent to analze the stability of roads and
mine benches at the five Coal Basin mines, for the ultimate purpose of
developing reclamation procedures for those facilities. Mid-Continent has
proposed to complete this task in three separate phases . Phase I includes an
inventory of the existing geotechnical situation. Phase II constitutes the
design of reclamation procedures, including the construction of test sections
at representative locations throughout the mine site, in order to verify the
proposed reclamation techniques. The final Phase III comprises monitoring of
the test sections .
If you have any questions, please give me a call .
Sjncerely
ai Herron
R lamation Specialist
JH/ph
cc: Mr. George Wear
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
