In the event that COMPANY determines additional testing is required, the material maybe tested <br />to determine acceptability. Tests to which the materials maybe subjected include (but not limited <br />to) petrographic analysis, specific gravity, soundness, abrasion, adsorption, freezing and thawing, <br />' and other tests considered necessary to demonstrate acceptability. The costs for these additional <br />tests shall be the responsibility of COMPANY. Any material determined to be not acceptable <br />shall be removed and replaced by CONTRACTOR with material that is determined acceptable. <br />' PART 3: EXECUTION <br />' 3.01 GENERAL <br />A. All slope protection materials shall be installed in accordance to the thiclmesses and limits shown <br />on the Drawings, and in accordance with Contract Documents. <br />' 3.02 FOUNDATION PREPARATION <br />' A. Foundation areas shall be excavated or filled to the lines and grades shown, or otherwise established, <br />within a tolerance of plus or minus 3 inches and will be compacted at no additional expense to <br />COMPANY. <br />3.03 GEOTBXTILE PLACEMENT <br />A. Geotextile Fabric shall be placed in accordance with CDOT Standard Specification 420.06. All <br />joints shall be overlapped a minimum 24 inches in accordance with CDOT Standard Specification <br />420.06 and the manufacturer's recommendations. All securing of fabric and joints shall be in <br />accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. <br />B. Riprap stones and granular filter shall not be dropped on the geotextile fabric from a height greater <br />than 3 feet, or a height equal to or greater than that which damages, tears, or negatively impacts the <br />quality of the geotextile fabric, whichever lower. <br />C. Any fabric that is torn, punctured, or moved out of design position as a result of activities of <br />CONTRACTOR shall be removed and properly replaced at the expense of CONTRACTOR. <br />D. Geotextile fabric shall be shipped and stored in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations <br />and ASTM D 4873-95. Each Geotextile shall be wrapped with a waterproof cover or membrane and <br />02375-5 <br />
