SECTION 02375 <br />RIPRAP PROTECTION <br />PART 1: GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />A. All Work included in this Section shall be performed in accordance with the following <br />paragraphs and the provisions of the other Contract Documents. <br />B. Work covered under this Section includes providing all materials, equipment, and labor to famish <br />and install: <br />1. Upstream Geotextile Fabric <br />2. Upstream Granular Base <br />3. Upstream Riprap <br />4. Energy Dissipater Geotextile Fabric <br />5. Energy Dissipater Granular Base <br />6. Energy Dissipater Riprap <br />1.02 REFERENCES <br />A. Colorado Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge <br />Construction, 2005 Edition, hereafter referred to as CDOT Standard Specifications. <br />B. American Society for Testing and Materials, Current Edition, hereafter referred to as ASTM. <br />C. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Manual (EM) EM 1110-2-1906 Laboratory Soils <br />Testing. (30 November 1970). <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Test Results/Certificates. Submit the following test results and/or certificates in accordance with <br />the procedures set forth in Section 01330 Submittals and/or the Agreement. <br />1. Sources of granular base, and riprap. CONTRACTOR shall submit for proof of <br />specification compliance the proposed sources of stone protection materials including the <br />name and address of COMPANY. <br />2. At least 2 weeks prior to delivery to Site or installation, whichever earlier, submit for proof <br />of specification compliance the certificate(s) indicating compliance with Specifications for <br />the granular filter material and riprap. Provide, for each material, test results for at least <br />one random sample showing gradation (ASTM D 422) and classification (ASTM D 2487). <br />Any testing required for deternuning initial material compliance shall be at the expense of <br />CONTRACTOR. Identify source of material (i.e., address, vendor, etc.) so that <br />COMPANY can sample if desired. <br />02375-1 <br />
