D. TRENCH DRAIN FILTER AGGREGATE <br />Materials conforming to the specifications for TRENCH DRAIN FILTER <br />AGGREGATE shall be in accordance with the material and material source for <br />DOWNSTREAM DRAINAGE BLANKET FILTER AGGREGATE shown above. <br />E. INTERCEPTOR TRENCH FII.TER AGGREGATE <br />1. Materials conforming to the specifications for INTERCEPTOR TRENCH FILTER <br />AGGREGATE shall be in accordance with the material and material source for <br />DOWNSTREAM DRAINAGE BLANKET FILTER AGGREGATE shown above. <br />F. CLAY CAP MATERIAL <br />1. Materials conforming to the specifications for CLAY CAP shall be in accordance <br />with the material and material source for UPSTREAM CLAY BLANKET shown <br />above. <br />' PART 3: EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSTRUMENTATION <br />' A. Existing piezometers, wells and inclinometers are located along the existing dam and the <br />left abutment. CONTRACTOR shall preserve all instrumentation and shall take every <br />precaution necessary to ensure that all instrumentation is protected from damage as a <br />' result of his operations. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the cost of repairing <br />or replacing any instrumentation that is damaged or destroyed. <br />B. During construction CONTRACTOR shall provide access to all instruments as required <br />by COMPANY. <br />' C. New instrument installation within the Work area will be COMPANY's responsibility. <br />At COMPANY's request CONTRACTOR shall install new instrumentation as required <br />at agreed upon costs. <br />' 3.02 EXAMINATION <br />A. CONTRACTOR shall examine the area and conditions for performing earthwork. If <br />' unsatisfactory conditions occur during the Work, CONTRACTOR shall not proceed <br />with the Work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br />B. It shall be CONTRACTOR's responsibility to determine to its own satisfaction the <br />location and nature of all surface and subsurface obstacles and the soil and water <br />conditions that will be encountered during construction. <br />' C. Information on subsurface explorations for the Work sites may be obtained from <br />COMPANY at CONTRACTOR'S request. The results of the subsurface explorations <br />are indicative of conditions at the locations of explorations, but are not necessarily those <br />which may be encountered throughout the entire area. The information is set forth to <br />generally assist CONTRACTOR in estimating subsurface conditions which will be <br />02300-6 <br />
