approved by COMPANY or COMPANY's Representative. CONTRACTOR shall <br />obtain all permits necessary to haul material over public roads. <br />3. The fill material used for the downstream dam face shall consist of lean clay or <br />lean clay with sand material from the "Borrow Area". The plasticity index of this <br />material shall be between 7 and 25%. The material shall conform to the following <br />grading: <br />U.S. Standard Sieve Size Percent Passing Weight <br />6" 100 <br />C. DOWNSTREAM DRAINAGE BLANKET FILTER AGGREGATE <br />1. CONTRACTOR shall obtain material from a site not listed on the Drawings, as <br />approved by COMPANY or COMPANY's REPRESENTATIVE. <br />CONTRACTOR shall obtain all permits necessary to haul material over public <br />roads. <br />8. 2. The material for use as the DOWNSTREAM DRAINAGE BLANKET <br />shall consist of material that has a D(15) maximum of 0.7 mm and D(50) <br />minimum of 0.5 mm. It shall have a maximum particle size of 10 mm (3/4 <br />inches) and no more than 3% passing the No. 200 sieve (0.075 mm). In addition, <br />the material passing the No. 40 (0.425 mm) sieve shall have a plasticity index of <br />zero (0) when tested in accordance with ASTM D-4318, "Standard Test Methods <br />for Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, and Plasticity Index of Soils." <br />The following gradation, consistent with Colorado DOT Class C Filter Material, <br />meets these criteria. <br />U.S. Standard Percent Passing <br />Sieve Size (dry weight) <br />3/a" 100 <br />#4 60-100 <br />#50 10-30 <br />#100 0-10 <br />#200 0-3 <br />02300-5 <br />
