SECTION 01501 <br />SAFETY <br />PART 1: GENERAL <br />1.01 GENERAL <br />A: In accordance with generally accepted construction practices, CONTRACTOR shall be <br />solely and completely responsible for job site conditions and safety procedures and <br />programs, including safety and health of all persons and property, on those portions of <br />the site affected by or used by CONTRACTOR, CONTRACTOR'S employees, <br />subcontractors, agents, and others during performance of the Work. This requirement <br />will apply continuously and not be limited to normal working hours. Observation of the <br />Work and CONTRACTOR'S performance by COMPANY and ENGINEER is not <br />intended to include review of the adequacy of CONTRACTOR'S safety and health <br />procedures and programs on or near the construction site. CONTRACTOR is solely <br />responsible for the protection of property and the safety and health of its employees, <br />Subcontractors, Suppliers, agents and others on or near the site. <br />1.02 SAFETY <br />A. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for fuunishing CONTRACTOR'S employees, as <br />well as any subcontractor's employees, with all safety equipment and other protection <br />devices needed to comply with Laws and Regulations or accepted safety practices. <br />CONTRACTOR shall also be responsible for furnishing all visitors to the site with all <br />safety equipment including but not limited to hard hats and eye protection. <br />' B. CONTRACTOR shall hold weekly safety meetings with all employees that will be <br />working on the job site. These meetings can be at the start of a shift and should cover <br />various relevant safety issues that pertain to the Work being done. CONTRACTOR <br />' shall maintain a list of employee attendance and provide this list to COMPANY as <br />required. <br />C. CONTRACTOR shall make all persons on the site familiar with the safety precautions <br />appropriate to the construction zones and refuse entry by any person not authorized by <br />COMPANY. <br />' D. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for any safety violation and/or fine that may occur <br />because of any neglect by CONTRACTOR, CONTRACTOR'S employees, <br />CONTRACTOR'S subcontractors, or any third party under CONTRACTOR'S <br />supervision or direction. CONTRACTOR shall also be responsible for any safety <br />violation and/or fine COMPANY may incur due to neglect by CONTRACTOR, <br />CONTRACTOR's employees, CONTRACTOR'S subcontractors, and any third party <br />' under CONTRACTOR'S supervision or direction at the construction site. <br />E. CONTRACTOR shall provide safe access to all portions of the Work for use by <br />' COMPANY and COMPANY'S authorized representatives in the performance of their <br />observation duties. Said access shall conform to Laws and Regulations and to all <br />requirements of any regulatory agency or agencies who claim jurisdiction over the <br />01501-1 <br />
