stockpile the material, and develop the material to be in accordance with the requirements <br />of the Specifications on the basis of a cubic yard as existing in-place as determined based <br />by surveys of the riprap source area, all in accordance with the Drawings and <br />Specifications. No payment will be made for materials otherwise salvaged as riprap. <br />E. Existing Dam Preparation <br />Method of Measurement: Existing Dam Preparation will be measured by the horizontal <br />area in acres (Acres) as determined based on the surveys performed by COMPANY or <br />COMPANY's Representative. <br />2. Basis of Payment: CONTRACTOR will be paid for furnishing all labor, equipment, and <br />materials and performing all operations necessary for the surface preparation of the <br />existing dam including to salvage and stockpile existing topsoil from the upstream and <br />downstream slopes, salvage and stockpile vegetation and brush for restoration, clear all <br />deleterious nonspecified materials for proper performance of the Work, backfill cavities or <br />depressions caused by removal of stumps all in accordance with the Drawings and <br />Specifications. No payment will be made for areas which have been previously cleared or <br />otherwise prepared. <br />F. Upstream Clay Blanket <br />' 1. Method of Measurement: Upstream clay liner material will be measured by in place <br />volume in cubic yards (CY) as determined by the average end area method using the <br />survey performed by COMPANY or COMPANY's Representative. <br />2. Basis of Payment: CONTRACTOR will be paid for furnishing all labor, equipment, and <br />materials and performing all operations necessary to excavate, and load from the material <br />source, stockpile, haul, place, moisten (if necessary) and compact the upstream clay <br />blanket on the basis of a unit price per cubic yard, all in accordance with the Drawings and <br />Specifications. <br />G. Upstream Geotextile Fabric <br />Method of Measurement: Upstream Geotextile Fabric will be measured by the area in <br />square yards (SY) of the fabric extents as determined based on the surveys and/or field <br />measurements performed by COMPANY or COMPANY's Representative. No additional <br />compensation will be provided for overlapping. <br />2. Basis of Payment: CONTRACTOR will be paid for furnishing all labor, equipment, and <br />materials, and performing all- operations necessary to provide, transport, place, and <br />permanently secure geotextile fabric in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, <br />Drawings, and Specifications. <br />H. Upstream Granular Base <br />1. Method of Measurement: Upstream Granular Base will be measured by the in-place <br />volume in cubic yards (CY) as determined by the average end area method using surveys <br />performed by COMPANY or COMPANY'S Representative. <br />01270-4 <br />
