Lennox Overburden. Two yells, YLOV3 and 4, monitor the Lennox overburden. Both wells are
flovinq and fitted with pressure gages. They both have tDe same period of monitorlaq
records as the two Lennox coal yells.
Wadqe Overburden. Nine wells; YOV1, 9, 15, 19, 22, and 27 to 30; monitor the Wadqe
overburden. Host wells exhibit typical seasonal fluctuations, although some lag time for
eha apriaq recDarge is observed.
Wadqe Coal. Tan wellsr YW2, 7, 14, 18, 21, 23, 26, and 2B to 30; monitor the coal. Due
to the low aquifer traasmissivitiee, seasonal water level fluctuations are much lees
pronounced than the alluvium and overburden, and are often masked by water samDllnq
effects.
Wadga OaderDUrden. Five wells; YWD16, 17, 2B, 29, and 30; monitor the Wadqe underburden.
None of these wells exDibrt any significant seasonal variation, although some variation
from year-to-year is evident.
• Wolf Creek Coal and OnderDUrden
One wall each monitors CDese YWC31 and
two units
. ,
YWC031. Well YWC31 exhibits very little variation. Well YWCD31 is normally dry.
Ground Water quality. Table 4 shows the ground water yarameter list used Eor all well
water samples. Appendix C provides all water quality data collected during this reporting
period, along with samDliaq remarks. This is followed by a plot of TDS versus time for
the entire period of record. The regression line on this plot is generated by a method
known as LOWESS (Locally Weighted Scatterplot Smoothing). A smoothness factor of 1 (on a
scale of 0 to 1) was used, whicD gives maximum smoothing. Flaally, this plot is followed
by a table lasting historic TDS values and percent m111iequivalents for major ions. Water
quality data toz those wells no longer required to be sampled have also been included here
(four YSAL series wellsl.
Alluvium. One well, YAAL 14, monitors water quality in the Armand Draw alluvium. Four
wells, YGAL15 to 18, monitor water quality in the Grassy Creek alluvium. Four wellsl
YSAL1, 3, e, and 12; monitor water duality is the Saae Creek alluvium.
•
3
