These lists are compoead
mostly of Colorado Department of Health (ODOR) standards, although other agencies'
stmdarda have beta used if they are more stringent or if the ODOR Las no standard for a
particular parameter. Sae SCC's Yoast Mine Permit Apylication, Tablas 7-21 and 7-23, for
e more detailed explanation of these standards.
Table 7 provides a comparison of ground water quality to irrigation standards. standards
that were exceeded during this reporting period aza iron 11 well), manganese (3 wells),
total dissolved solids (TDS, 1 well), and sulfates f9 wells). Ia addition, one well had a
cadmium value below the detection lrmrt that in turn was higher than the standard.
Table a provides a comparison of ground water quality to livestock standards. No
atandarde were exceeded during this reporting period.
SuIfflca Water
Required surface water sites are monr to red monthly (March to October) for flow and field
parameters (p R, temperature, and electrical conductivity [EC]). Samp'_es obtained at these
sites are analyzed for the surface water parameter lrst. Table 9, during April, May or
June, and September. A summary of surface water sites is Drovided is Table 10. The
current surface water and spring monitoring program is prey anted in Table 15.9 of the
Yoast Mine PAP.
All surface water date collected durino thrs reporting period are provided in Appendix D.
Included in this appendix and the following discussion are data from Bites no longer part
of the required monitoring program. Data ~yxovided for stream sites are a water quality
report, remarks (if present), and a surface water hydrograph (except for site Y552). Also
included (for al l required monitoring sites and certain nonrequized sites) are TDS plots
using the IAWESS method and TDS/millieyvivalent tables (see preceding Ground Water Quality
4
