Surface water quality reports for 1994 sre presented in Appendix B. On April 20, 1994, <br />• data was collected •t three stream sites. The upstream site, NGSD1, had an electrical <br />conductivity (EC, corrected to 25° C) of 3460 umhos. The old downstream site, XGSD2, had <br />an EC of 6290 umhos. The new downstream site, NGSD3 (located between BGSD1 end 2), had an <br />EC of 4260 umhos. Mo flow was noted et all three sites during the September-November <br />sampling period. <br />Tables 3 and 4 present surface water quality dsta collected by Reyden Gulch Coel Company <br />(BGCC, BGT's previous owner) from 1985 to 1992. <br />Comparison of this year's data from the two downstream sites (HGSD2 end 3) to the data in <br />Table 4, Lower Dry Creek, indicates no chemical parameters in 1994 exceeded what had been <br />previously observed. <br />Table 5 presents [he percentage of major ions and total dissolved solids (TDS) for the two <br />downstream (new end old) surface water sites sampled since the beginning of SCC's <br />operation of NGT in 1993. Review of the spring season water queLity indicates both XGSD2 <br />and XGSD3 ere Ngae-504 type waters. <br />r1 <br />L_J <br />Ground Yater <br />Ground water quality reports for 7994 are presented in Appendix B. Tables 6 end 7 present <br />ground water quality data collected by BGCC from 1987 to 1992. Comparison of this year's <br />date from BGDALI (updip alluvial) to the date in Table 6 indicates that alkalinity, boron, <br />bicarbonates, EC, iron, sodium, and ammonia values were higher this year than those values <br />in Table 6. Comparison of this year's date from HGDAL2 (old downdip alluvial) to the data <br />in Table 7 indicates that alkalinity, bicarbonates, end manganese values were higher this <br />year then those values in Table 7. Comparison of this year's data from BGDAL3 (new <br />downdip alluvial) to the date in Table 7 indicates that only manganese values were higher <br />this year [hen those values in Table 7. <br />Table 8 presents the percentage of major ions and TDS for all wells sampled since the <br />beginning of SCC's operation of BGT in 1993. For this year, samples et BGDALI exhibited a <br />Ma-504 type water; BGDAL2 s MaMg-504 type water, and BGDAL3 a NaXg-S04 type water. Table <br />8 also indicates that TDS values actually decreased as one progressed downgradient during <br />• both the spring and fall. <br />2 <br />
