West Elk Mine 2004 Annuat Hydrology Report 16
3.2.3.2 Springy G-26a
Spring G-26a is in Lone Pine Gulch north of the NW mine panels. This spring issues from
alluvium and flows into a small pond. This spring is seasonal and flow only occurs during peak
flow conditions.
3.2.3.3 Springy G-28a
Spring G-28a is in a north tributary to Gribble Gulch. It is above the western-most panels in the
NW mine panels. This spring issues from alluvium and is seasonal. Flow usually occurs during
peak flow and accumulates in a stock pond.
3.2.3.4 Sprint G-31
Spring G-31 is in Gribble Gulch and is above the east end of the Jumbo Mountain mine panels.
This spring issues from alluvium and flows into a small pond. It is seasonal and flow usually
occurs during wet spring conditions. The pond is often dry in summer and autumn.
3.2.3.5 Springy G-30
Spring G-30 is in Gribble Gulch above the east end of the Jumbo Mountain mine panels. It issues
. from alluvium, but water has not been observed during the past four years.
3.2.3.6 Spring G-25
Spring G-25 is in the Gribble Gulch drainage and is north of the Jumbo Mountain mine panels. It
issues from alluvium and flows into a holding pond. This spring has perennial flow which
diminishes in late summer.
3.2.3.7 Springy G-35
Spring G-35 is on the north flank of Jumbo Mountain in an unnamed drainage west of Gribble
Gulch which is tributary to the North Fork. This spring is on the north edge of the Jumbo
Mountain mine panels. The spring issues from alluvium and flows into a holding pond, where
water is present during wet climatological cycles.
3.2.3.8 Spring G-49a
Spring G-49 is on the north flank of Jumbo Mountain, west of Gribble Gulch, in an unnamed
drainage tributary to the North Fork. The spring is north of the Jumbo Mountain mine panels.
• Flow is perennial, but diminishes in autumn. This spring issues from alluvium and hydrological
monitoring measurements are taken at the end of an outflow pipe from an enclosed spring house.
August 2005 HydroGeo, Inc.
