.~
~~
~'
Area 9
Another slope on tailing dam number one was covered with soil salvaged
from within the tailing basin. 7,744 cubic yards of soil were placed to an
average depth of one foot in September and October, and the four-acre area
was reseeded.
An additional 39 acres of timber were cleared along the northwest
boundary of the tailing basin in anticipation of tailing deposition in the
next two to three years.
In 1987, 80 acres of timber will be cleared to accommodate tailing
deposition, also. Timber cleared in 1987 will require little if any
revegetation treatment as the slope is minimal and disturbance to the
grasses, forbs, and shrubs is slight.
Tailing deposition and water acreage totaling 650 acres at the end of
1986 did not exceed the 715 acres which were estimated. This was due to the
reduced production of the mine and mill in 1985 and 1986.
In general, due to reduced production goals and no major outdoor
construction projects, the disturbances requiring treatment are few. This
should be the case fot the next two-year period.
SURETY
Enclosed is the annual fee of $275.00 and map as required by Rule 2.42.
Also attached is the biennial recomputation of the estimated Henderson mine
and mill reclamation costs as specified by the Board for the period 1987-
1988. We will await your verification of the amount before adjusting our
bond value.
rrne~ly/l/ t
l~
Charles L.
