Graphic details of
' the 300 series piezometer installations are presented as Plate 28
of the Appendix.
DRILL HOLE No. 8:
' Drill hole No. 8 was originally planned to be located on the
second maintenance bench approximately 30-feet north of existing PZ
' well 52-4. Upon excavation of a suitable drill site at the planned
location a significant amount of water began seeping from the pile.
This location was abandoned and a drill site directly above
' existing well B2-4 was selected and prepared. Dri11 hole No. 8 is
thus located on the outside of an access road leading to the third
maintenance bench, approximately 10-feet above existing well E2-4.
Well B2-4 is the last or most southerly well on the second
' maintenance bench. The decision to drill above well E2-4 was made
in an effort to intercept pervious zones which may affect °2-4 ar.d
to intercept the zone which began seeping during preparation of the
' abandoned site. It was noted previously that a significant amo~:t
e`_ seepage was encountered when preparing the first site. The
amcu,.t of seepage `_low decreased in a matter of hours after being
e:tposed, but persists as a very small but steady stream. Drill
' hole No. 8 was started on March 31, 1994 and advanced to a total
depth of 85-feet on April 4, 1994. The alluvium/pile contact was
encountered at 70-feet. A total of six water bearing intervals
' were identified for piezometer installation within the pile. On
April 5, 1994 the hole was flushed to remove cutting debris and the
400 series piezometers were installed as follows:
' 12
