Graphic details of
the 200 series piezometer installations are presented as Plate 27
of the Appendix.
' DRILL HOLE No. 7:
Drill hole No. 7 was located on the inside of the second
' maintenance bench and was visually aligned on a line through drill
hole Pio. 4 (100 Series piezometers) and existing PZ well P-1. Hole
No. 7 was started on March 25, 1994 and advanced to a final dept?;
' of 90-feet on March 29, 1994. The alluvium/pile contact was
encountered at 75.5-feet. A total of six distinct moisture bearing
zones were identified within the pile for piezometer installation.
On March 30, 1994 the hole was flushed several times with no
' surface return of cutting debris or flush water. This flush'_ny
operation indicated the presence of an extremely pervious zone
since water was introduced into the hole at a rate of 30 - 35 GPM
' without filling the hole. It was not feasible to determine the
depth of this highly pervious zone. The hole was allowed to
settle, then probed to determine its depth. The hole was open to
' 85-feet. The first piezometer tube was installed at its target
depth of 90-feet by circulating water through a tremmie pipe set oa
the bottom of the hole to loosen the sediment trapped in the hole.
Thus, the bottom 5-feet of the first (deepest) piezometer is bedded
' in sediment sand versus silica sand. The 300 Series piezometers
were installed in this hole as follows:
1

11
