DAILY DIARY
PROJECT: ALMA PLACER MINE
LOCATION: PARK COUNTY, COLORADO
SOURCE: BERM CONSTRUCTION
PROJECT N0: 1-4561-11191-10 REPORT N0: 7 DATE: 6/1$/90
PROCTOR N0: N/A TIME: 10.D HOURS
SAMPLE N0: 1 ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN: DEA GELIS
YORK PERFORMED:
Fill placement continued today in all areas excluding the bench n the inside of
the berm near the south pond. Fill placement did continue on th outside of the
berm in this area, as the subgrade material was observed to be stable and the
minimum compaction requirements were met. The next lift plac ed in the area
however, again contained very moist clay.
i
I
REMARKS:
Mr. Fred Ladd arrived at the site at approximately 10:30 a.m. Fred observed
equipment travel over the inside of the berm near the south pond. Fred suggested
removing 1.5 to 2.0 feet of the existing subgrade, and then plac ing rock in the
unstable areas on both sides of the berm.
This afternoon, following Mr. Ladd's site visit, rock was hauled i to the unstable
areas using a front end loader. One push cat was required to ai the front end
loader at the rock stock pile, while the other push cat was used to level the rock.
Fill operations did not take place in any other areas this after on. The front
end loader was used repeatedly to roll rock into the unstable area n the inside of
the berm. It was observed that the pond side of the bench was be inning to creep
our towards the pond where the majority of the rock had been laced, and the
subgrade material was still quite unstable. Reclamation Resources, Inc., moved out
of the area and spent the rest of the afternoon placing fill mater al to the north
in areas which were stable.
Six nuclear density tests were performed at the given locations and elevations.
The test results indicated that the minimum compaction requirements were not met at
the test locations.
with Reclamation Resources, Inc., pAne.lin6grmRdrof today's test res lts.
I
~''I1~~/~~j~~~/~ GEOTECNNICAL.
