October 2000 -62- 003-2191
• post-closure caze has been completed in accordance with this document. This
certification will be placed into the operating record.
3.6.1 Land Use
The land use of depository property is currently rangeland and wildlife habitat that is
used extensively for oil and gas operations. During the post-closure care period, the use
of the land will revert back to rangeland and wildlife habitat. Livestock grazing will be
restricted on revegetated areas as appropriate to assure the success of the newly
established vegetation. Aland use of rangeland and wildlife habitat should not disturb
the integrity of the final cover, drainage control system or any of the monitoring
systems.
3.6.2 Facility Inspection,Maintenance,andRepairs
During the post-closure period, inspections of the facility will be made on at least a
semi-annual basis. The inspections will include observation of the leachate collection
and management system, final cover system, surface water channels, monitoring points,
and perimeter fencing. The final cover and perimeter fencing will be maintained to
reduce the effects of nuisance (vectors, erosion, fires) on the facility. The leachate
collection system will be inspected to ensure that it is operating properly. Leachate will
be evacuated from the sump during the post-closure period on an as-needed basis, and
will be pumped out and disposed of at a local wastewater treatment plant, if required.
The integrity of the final cover will be examined and repairs made as necessary to
mitigate the effects of erosion, settlement, and subsidence. If damage is determined to
have occurred to the final cover barrier layer, it will be repaired to the same
specifications as during the original cover construction. Surface water channels and
culverts will be cleazed of debris and sediment as needed so that flow is not impeded,
• and any significant erosion occurring in the surface water channels will be repaired and
waxiviaieis~d.i~w.~niooo ao~ Sedalia Recycling Center and Depository
