The Sedalia
Recycling Center and Depository is projected to obtain approximately 500 to 2,000
cubic yazds daily (loose) of material, Assuming that the maximum comes in and the
waste volume is compacted, a value of 1,500 cubic yards in-place will be used for site
-ife calculations and includes an allowance for daily cover. Assuming 305 days of
operation, this is equal to approximately 460,000 cubic yards per year. The facility has
a total air space volume of approximately 10,600,000 cubic yards. This results in an
estimated site life of approximately23 years.
•
The main waste stream to be accepted at the depository is Construction and Debris
waste. It will consist of residential and commercial construction and debris but not
waste from manufacturing type industries. The expected composition of the waste
typically obtained from similar facilities is as follows:
Waste Composition Percentaees
Wood 15
Paper/PaperProducts 8
Glass, Plastics, Metals 10
Yazd Wastes ]0
Rubber, Tires, Insulation 7
Concrete, Dirt, Asphalt 42
Sheetrock, White Goods 8
Hazazdous waste will not knowingly be accepted for disposal at the depository. The
following program will be implemented to detect and prevent the disposal of
polychlorinatedbiphenyl (PCB) wastes and hazardous wastes:
•
VOOR I91RI91 $edali3mni~1000 EOC Sedalia Recycling Center and Depository
