The second suggestion concerned xa tez quality detection limits and units displayed on the
r water quality use tables. Those issues are clarified in the same ground and suzface rater •
use sections. Also, a request was made to explain the •'H" and "<" symbols £ound on the
water quality zeports found in the ground and surface rater quality appendices. These
water quality reports are computer generated and are not made able to edit. Therefore, an
explanation of those symbols will be made in this and all future AHR Introductions. In
addition, an explanation will be provided in the Table of Contents fox each water quality
appendix. The "<'• symbol found to the left of a rater quality value indicates that value
is less than the Method Detection Limit (MDL) . The "B•' symbol found to the left of a
watez quality value indicates that value ie betxeen the MDL and the Practical Quantitation
Limit (PQL). Stated simply, a "e" indicates that a value has a leaser degree of precision
and accuracy than a value above the PQL.
A request vas also made by the CDMG to include baseline votes quality data in the ABR.
Baseline data, when it exists, has been provided Eor surface eater sites downstream of,
and wells downgradiant of 'mining .' The format of these data is provided in the following
ground and surface water sections.
Finally, a request was made in explain the lack of sampling of Well YTC32. Due to the •
unexpected depth of the Trout Creek Sandstone in this area, this yell vas completed in the
.shallower Twentymile Sande tone instead. Although this yell ras drilled in 1996, it has
yet to be put into service (no electrical porter exists at this Bite yet). This well rill
not be put into service until either a bathhouse ie constructed at the Facilities site or
until SCC decides to pump rater from this xell into the 010 Pond for duet control
purposes. SCC rill stazt monitoring this yell at that time. SCC has revised Table 3,
"S~••"•"~+'y of Ground Water Monitoring Sites", in this AHR to reflect the nee cell name
(YTM32). SCC has also changed this table (Table 15-3) and the monitoring schedule table
(Table 15-8) in the PAP, ae a pazt of the upcoming Sage Creek basin permit revision, to
reflect these changes.
Meteorological Data
No meteorological data is collected at the Yoast Mine. SCC maintains a weather station
(rind speed and direction, temperature and precipitation) at its adjacent Seneca II-W
Mine. The reader is referred to that AHR, Appendix H. SCC also maintains a precipitation
•
2
