C~ <br /> <br />those that are not. Former haul roads in this cut are <br />being brought to yrade in preparation for <br />reclamation. An overburden waste dump has been <br />started near the southeast corner of this cut. <br />Cut The perimeter road has been established, the haul <br />road in the center covered with topsoil and the area <br />seeded. A large Juniper tree was transplanted from <br />cut 6 to the east edge of this cut. The tree seems to <br />be doing fair at this time. <br />Cut 4 No change from 1988, the western half of this cut is <br />still being filled with overburden from Cut 6 and the <br />eastern portion is receiving kiln dust. At this time <br />the overburden dump is starting to cover the access <br />road from the pit to the refuse and kiln dumps. It is <br />presently 8 feet below the desired elevation. <br />Cut 5 Blending of limestone firom this cut with that in Cut <br />6 is expected to continue into 1991. The sandstone <br />quarry has been enlarged. This sandstone quarry is <br />expected to provide the necessary silica fior the <br />plant for several years. <br />Cut 6 Mining of overburden and limestone continue in this <br />cut. The effects of including the lower nine feet of <br />the Smokey Hill member of the Niobara Formation with <br />the Fort Hayes limestone member will be examined in <br />1990. The respective bench depths have been modified <br />to conduct this study. A new access road south ofi <br />this cut has been established. Approximately 66 % and <br />33 % of the overburden and limestone respectively <br />have been mined. <br />2. Location and Number of Acres Reclaimed During the Year. <br />Reclamation work is continuing in several areas, but no <br />additional acreage has bean completely restored. <br />3. Location and Number of Acres in Various Stages of <br />Reclamation. <br />Tn Cut 3 approximately 16 acres have been seeded and added to <br />the area receiving sewer sludge. <br />4. Species of Vegetation Planted, the Location and Dates of <br />Planting. <br />As stated above, approximately 16 acres were seeded in Cut ~. <br />on April 25 and 26, The species planted are listed below. <br />
