' Design Vehicles as provided in Table 405.4A of the 1990 Colorado Department of
Transportation Roadway Design Manual. The alignment will be perpendiculaz to CR 7 and will
be posted with a Stop sign. CR 7 is a 2 lane rural roadway with a measured width of generally 25'
t shoulder to shoulder with the exceptions of the culvert crossing located approximately 225' South
of the proposed access where CR 7 necks down slightly [0 24' and at Harmony Road where the
paved section of CR 7 increases in width to 36' for approximately '/a mile.
' The sight distance at CR 7 to the North is approximately % mile to Harmony Road. The
measured sight distance to the South is approximately 800'. This is also the distance to the North
' driveway of the Jehovah Witness church located East of CR 7. The only other accesses located
within this 800' segment of CR 7 aze to single family residences on the West side of CR 7 at
approximately 400' and 750' South of this proposed access point. The posted speed limit for CR
' 7 Road is 40 MPH. According to Table 203.2A of the previously referenced Roadway Design
Manual, the Desirable Stopping Sight Distance for this posted speed is 325'. The measured sight
' distances therefore exceed this distance significantly. The Roadway Design Manual was further
reviewed for possible operating speeds at 10 MPH above the posted speed limit and the
measured sight distances were found to exceed the distances provided at these speeds as well.
' Passing sight distances were not specifically reviewed as the current roadway vertical alignment
already restircts this based on the posted speed limit of 40 mph and the recommended distances
provided in the previously referenced Roadway Design Manual.
' CR 36
' The access location on CR 36 is proposed to be located directly across from Fort Collins Ready
' The sight distance at CR 36 to the West is approximately 0.3 miles to CR 7. The sight distance
to the East is approximately 0.2 miles to the East side of I-25. The only other access than the one
directly across from the proposed access is located approximately which serves as a frontage
' road along I-25 to the South of CR 36. The posted speed limit for CR 7 Road is 40 MPH. Again,
according to Table 203.2A of the previously referenced Roadway Design Manual, the Desirable
Stopping Sight Distance for this posted speed is 325'. The measured sight distances therefore
' exceed this distance significantly. The Roadway Design Manual was further reviewed for
possible operating speeds at 10 MPH above the posted speed limit and the measured sight
distances were found to exceed the distances provided at these speeds as well. Again, passing
' sight distances were not specifically reviewed as the current roadway vertical alignment already
restircts this based on the posted speed limit of 40 mph and the recommended distances provided
t in the previously referenced Roadway Design Manual.
Mix to the South of the site which is approximately 0.3 miles East of CR 7. This access design
will be identical to the proposed access on CR 7. CR 36 is also a 2 lane rural roadway with a
' measured width of generally 27' shoulder to shoulder with the exceptions of the paved sections
starting at approximately 160' West of this access which is 25' wide including 1' shoulders and at
' approximately 800' East of this access at the I-25 overpass which is 24' wide including 1.5'
shoulders.
1
