• A mechanical integrity test will be run in conjunction with the
initial injection activities. When the return solution
temperature is at least 120°F, the wells will be shut in. A
minimum of three temperature logs will be run the five hour period
following the shut in. Prior to this testing, the annular
gas/liquid interface is raised above the A-Groove. These three
temperature logs will be compared to the temperature logs obtained
prior to injection. The logged interval will be from the cemented
shoe to near the A-Groove. The logged interval, lower limit for
directionally drilled wells is the Dissolution Surface should the
tool fail to fully reach the cement shoe (such was the case for
the 1990 well 90-5 temperature log).
• The use of the injection casing in the horizontal wellbore is
necessary for cavity #1. An aborted drilled hole reached the
Boies Bed roof 1,070 back from 88-1. The injection casing will be
utilized so that a 50 foot pillar will separate the aborted hole
from the cavity. This will be accomplished by not allowing the
injection point within 75 feet of the aborted hole. This is 995
feet back from well 88-1. Injection casing may or may not be used
in future cavities.
3.4.2 Cavity #2 and 3 Mining Procedure
Mining of cavities ~2 and 3 will basically follow the procedures
outlined above for cavity ~1. Reduced use of the injection casing
and reversal of flow directions may be used as modifications of
the procedure.
56
