Again, most of this grading will be accomplished as the final
reclamation grades are achieved. A small amount of grading was accomplished
prior to the arrival of winter. More grading is scheduled for next year.
Upper Low-Grade
The inspection report recommends improving the drainage to limit
encroachment of run-off. This improvement was accomplished in 1984.
10560 to 10450 Levels
No Recommendations were made in the inspection report.
10490 Level
The inspection report recommends regrading to control drainage off the
dump. Regrading has been accomplished including closure of the surficial
cracks. This will be repeated in 1985 if required.
10300 Level
The inspection report recommends construction of a rock toe near the base
of the fill, in Indian Creek. Implementation of this remedial measure has been
incorporated in the amended reclamation plan. In the meantime, sediment loads
remain normal, if not below normal, and the catchment area located downstream of
the dump remains capable of handling abnormai increases in sediment, should they
occur. The face of the dump shows no further movement.
Tie Camp
The inspection report recommends regrading the Tie Camp Dump to its
ultimate reclamation shape and re-establishing the dump under-drainage.
Excavation of the under-drain was started prior to encroachment of winter
weather conditions. Water was found to be draining beside the rock drain in the
area exposed. Work to further determine the status of the rock drain wi]1
continue when weather and equipment availability allow. Regrading of the Tie
Camp Dump may be started in 1985 if adequate areas on the North Dump are
completed beforehand. Of course the water drainage system will be maintained.
