The Disrh° oe Monitoring Report forms shall be filled out <br />accurately and completely in accordance with requirements of this permit and the instructions on the forms. They shall <br />tx sigrred by as authorved person u identified in Part I.D. <br />3. Acute WET Testine-0ut(ells 004. 023. 024 and 026 <br />(a) Testine end Reoortine Reovirements <br />Tests shall be done at the Croqueacy listed in Part LB.I. Test results shall bo reported along with the Diuharge <br />Monitoring Report (DMR) submitted for the reporting penod during which the sample was taken. (i.e., WET testing <br />results for the first calendar quarter ending March 31 shall be tepoRed with the DMR due Apri] 28J The tesults <br />shall be submitted oa the Aate Tonicity Test report form, available from the Division. Copies of these reporu ere <br />W be submitted to both the Division and EPA along with the DMR. <br />The permittee shall conduU each acute WET' test in general accocdaace with methods described is MUhods (or <br />Measurine the Acute Tonicity of Effluents and Receivin¢ Waters to Freshwater end Marine Oreenisms, EPA/600/4- <br />90/027 or We most current edition, except as modified by the most cutrrnt Division guidance document entitled <br />Guidelines for Conductive Whole Effluent Tonicity Tests. The permit[ee shall conduct an acute 48-hour WET lest <br />using Daohnie Ma¢na sp., and an acute 96-hour WEf test using fathead minnows. Acute tests will be replacement <br />static tests o(a single effluent grab sample. <br />(b) Failure of Test and Division Notification <br />An acute WET test is failed whenever the LCD, which represents ten estimate of the effluent concentration which is <br />lethal to 50% of the test organisms in the time period prescnbed by the test, is found to be less Ihan or equal to <br />100% effluent. The permittee must provide written notification of the failure of a WET test to the Division, along <br />with a statement as to whether the Preliminary Tonicity Incident ('PTI')~I'ozicity Identification Evaluation ('TIE') <br />investigation or accelerated testing is being performed (see nett section). Notification mast be received by fhe <br />Division within 14 rrlendar days of the demonstration of acute WET in the routine required test <br />'Demonslntion' for $e purports of Parts I.B.4(b),(c},(d} and (f) means no later than the last day of the laboratory <br />test. <br />(c) Automatic Compliance Schedule Unon Failure o(Test <br />If a routine acute WET test is failed, the following automatic compliance schedule shall apply. As part of this the <br />permittee shall either: <br />(i) proceed to conduct the PTIlfIE investigation as described in Part I.B.4.(d), or <br />(ii) conduU accelerated testing using the single species found to be more sensitive. <br />1f accelerated testing is being performed, the pennittee shall provide written notification of Lhe results within <br />14 calendar days of completion of the "Pattern of Toxic~ly"/"No Toxicity" demonstration. Testing;all.be ar <br />least once every two weeks for up to five tests until I) two consecutive tesLS fail or three of five tests fai}~ tin which <br />tau a pattem of toxicity has bola demonstrated or, 2) two consecutive tesLS pass or three of five tests pass, in <br />which eau no pattem of toxicity has been found. <br />
