A draft shall be <br />sukmitted to the Department by December 31, 1981. <br />12.1.7.2 Revisions <br />The manual revisions are subject to the <br />Department's review and approval. <br />The licensee shall sulmit proposed procedure <br />manual revisions to the Department whenever new <br />or revised regulatory guidance requiring such <br />revisions is provided to the licensee by the <br />Department. <br />12.1.7.3 Work Permits <br />For any work or maintenance in a controlled area <br />for which there is no written operating <br />procedure, a Radiation Fork Permit describing the <br />specific radiological controls for the work shall <br />be prepared and approved by the Fadiation Safety <br />officer prior to the start of the activities. A <br />copy of these permits shall be retained no less <br />than five years for inspection by the Department. <br />12.1.8 TRAINING <br />12.1.8.1 New Employees <br />New employees shall not cortunence work assignments <br />in controlled areas until they have been <br />adequately trained in their assignment and in <br />radiation safety, in accordance with the p;ogram <br />referenced in the proceedures manual required by <br />LC 12.1.7. Such training shall be documented by <br />dates, nature of training, tests and test scores, <br />and written acknavledgment of receipt by employee. <br />12.1.8.2 Refresher Traini <br />The licensee shall accwnulate at least 9o minutes <br />of meeting time per quarter forpersonnel who <br />handle licensed materials, for the purpose of <br />reviewing radiation protection topics and <br />problems, a~ shall docimient employee atterxiance. <br />VII -5- <br />
