manner. Two undesirable event reports were filed in 2003 and one was reported in 2004.
Twelve site inspections by the BLM and one inspection by the EPA were performed.
3.1.4 Proposed 2006 Activities and Schedule
Processing
Natural Soda, Inc. anticipates sales in excess of 100,000 tons in 2006. Aggressive mining of
sodium bicarbonate deposited in the process pond is scheduled to begin as freezing
conditions subside. Six boil outs of three days duration are planned in 2006. Engineering
activities will continue on the design of three projects: 1) on-site packaged products
warehouse, 2) upgrade to the current version of the Rosemont Distributive Control System
for process control and 3) upgraded controls and economizer installation on the two process
boilers. The marketplace has been receptive to the increase in fines when all of the fines
from the process are sold in animal feed and industrial grades packaged product. NSI
anticipates continuing to sell all of the dried product produced, rather than recycling the fine
reject stream back into the barren solution and then to the wells.
Well field
A two hundred ninety foot pull-back in 6H injection well is planned for February, 2006.
Completion reports for the two wells drilled in 2005 (7H-1 R recovery and 7H-21 injection) will
be submitted. Shut in wells, 4A-4V, 4A-6V, and 3A-5V, are scheduled to be plugged and
abandoned. Due to low flows in the converted raw water supply well 2A-2V, it will be
plugged and abandoned. One of the proposed P/A wells, either 4A-4V or 4V-6V, may be
permitted and converted to a raw water well, rather than P/A.
-g-
