Dust shall be controlled to a degree acceptable to <br />' the appropriate state and federal agencies, and to the Engineer. <br />3.4 Limits of Work <br />' The Contractor shall confine his equipment, the storage of materials, and the operation of <br />' workmen to limits indicated by law, ordinances, permits, or selected by the Engineer, and shall <br />not unreasonably encumber the premises with his materials. Caution shall be exercised at all <br />times to avoid blocking plant or other access and haul roads or in any other way interfering with <br />' the Owner's operations. The Contractor shall not, at any time, engage or instigate activities that <br />would, in the Owner's or Engineec's opinion, present a hazard to Owner's personnel, or <br />operations, or to the public. <br />' The Contractor's attention is brought to areas within the overall work areas covered in this <br />' SpeciFication in which the Owner, or other contractors appointed by the tDwner, will be <br />performing work. These include, but are not limited to, the mine and millsite areas, the tailings <br />disposal area, waste rock disposal areas, and utility line corridors. <br />The Contractor shall meet with the Owner and Engineer to establish the extent of the above <br />' areas and any other area which may impact the schedule or method of performing the work to <br />accommodate the work activities in the required areas. <br />' 4.0 STI'E PREPARATION <br />~,' 4.1 Clearing, Grubbing, and Stripping (if required) <br />' Clearing, grubbing, and stripping shall be done for the embankment foundadon~ areas, tailings <br />disposal area, secondary collection facilities, access roads, and miscellaneous structures, as <br />1 shown on the Drawings. Clearing involves removal of surface vegetation by a method that <br />mulches the vegetation for inclusion in the topsoil stockpile. Grubbing involves removal of brush <br />roots in excess of i~ inch in diameter in the subsoils. Stripping involves remaval of organic <br />soils, or otherwise unsuitable foundation materials, as determined by the Engineer. An organized <br />topsoil stripping pattern with grade stakes shall be implemented by the Contractor as approved <br />' by the Engineer to ensure that topsoil is removed without over excavation.
