1
Water Quality - The water quality data is summarized in Tables 13 to 18 for
' the Foidel Creek wells and Tables 19 to 23 for the Fish Creek wells.
The historic dissolved solids concentrations for the Foidel Creek wells are
' plotted on Figure 12. Seasonal variation occurs in the wells, this is due
to flushing effect of the relatively low dissolved solids surface water
' which recharges the alluvial aquifers during spring runoff. There was 'a
small increase in the average salt content of the water in the water year
1987. This is probably due to the relatively low runoff.
1
Since there are no discharges from the underground mine to Fish Creek there
' are no impacts from the mine. The water quality data for the Fish Creek
alluvium is presented for baseline purposes only. The water quality in the
' Foidel Creek alluvial wells upstream and downstream of the underground mine
discharge are very similar. No inpact form the discharge is evident. The
' water is a sodium-sulphate type. No increase in metal concentrations was
observed.

1

1
' -5-
