Surface Yater Site sY-52Y-FC1. This site is located on Xubberson Gulch downstream of the
006 Gulch confluence. It has been monitored since July, 1979. Review of its hydrograph •
indicates lower than average snowmel[ runoff. Samples et this site display a
MgCeNa-SOLNCOL type water with an average TDS value of 1,133 mg/l in 1994. This value is
higher then the 942 mg/l baseline average but falls within the baseline range of 290 to
1,632 mg/l. Mater quality data from NPDES 006 indicate that mining has had very little
influence on TDS values at Site FG1.
NPDES 005. This sediment pond is Located in the north mining area on a tributary to Dry
Creek referred to as the 005 Gulch. Construction of this pond was completed in July, 1992
end the first discharge occurred an April 22, 1993. Due to for precipitation, no flow ras
observed from this site in 1994.
Surface Yater Site SY-S2Y-SGS. This site is located on Dry Creek end is the furthest
downstream surface rater site for Seneca II-Y. Monitoring at this site began in March,
1983. Review of its hydrograph again shore lower than average runoff. Samples at this
site display a MgCsNS-SOLXC03 type rater rich en average TDS value of 1,022 mg/l in 1994.
This value ie lower then the baseline average of 1,065 mg/l but falls within the baseline
range of 345 to 1,562 mg/l. .•
Surface Yater Site SY-52Y-FGS. This site is situated on Sege Creek upstream of the
impacts from the Seneca II-Y Nine (end also the proposed Toast Mine). Monitoring at this
site commenced in September, 1990. Samples et this site display a CaMg-NC03 type water
with an average TDS value of 401 mg/l in 1994. Review of the hydrograph indicates the
lowest peek flor on record occurred this year.
NPDES 009. This site is situated on a tributary to Sage Creek and was constructed in
October, 1991. As of yet, no flow has occurred from this pond. Data from the
discontinued Surface Yater Site SY-S2Y-SG3 (period of record: July, 1979 to May, 1986)
rill be used in future AXR's as the baseline data for this NPDES site.
Surface Yater Site SV-S2Y-FG4. This site is situated on Sage Creek downstream of the
impacts from the Seneca II-Y Mine (and also the proposed Toss[ Mine). Monitoring of th(s
site commenced in September, 1990. Samples at this site display a CeMg-XC03504 type water
with en sverage TDS value of 638 mg/l in 1994. This value is 59 percent higher than that
observed upstream at Site FGS, but since no water from the Seneca II-V Mine has yet to •
10
