• Mr. Joseph Dudish - 2 - April 25, 2001
Several monitoring points were inadvertantly missed during the 1999 monitoring season
during a bereavment period of the sampler.
3. Table 1 of [he 1999 AHR shows that quar[erly laboraton.~ analvses ar:d monthly field
parameters are required jor ground water monitoring well MYV-03. However, the data on
n:anitoring point table page 1? shotiv [lrat the first quarter laboratal~ ar:alvses mere rro[
perfonued anti dte f eld parameters of ph, cond[[ctivity and temperature were root taken
for most of the months in 1999. There should he access to the site since it is at the h•nin
loadout and, as evidenced by the data, monthly depth to water measurements were made.
Please conunent.
During the first quarter, insufficient water was available for laboratory analysis. Upon
review of the 1995 AHR and Table 3 of the permit application, we find the required field
parameter sampling cycle for MW-O1, MW-02 and MW-03 should be quarterly, not
monthly. Table 1 has been updated to reflect the correct sampling cycle, as quarterly field
and lab paameters and a notation that shows water levels are taken monthly.
4. Table 1 of the 1999 AHR shows that semi-annual laboratory analyses are required for
• ground water n:orritoring locations SM- 1, SM-S, SM-6, StLl-7, Stti!-9, SrL1-10 and SM-11.
However, the data presented in monitoring point tnble pages 14 through 11 show that the
monitoring data do not exist for the first half of 1999. Pleuse comment.
Several monitoring points were inadvertantly missed during the 1999 monitoring season
during a bereavment period of the sampler.
5. Hvdrologic moni[orir:g data jor drill hole locations DH 60 and 6? are absent in 1999
because of problems with the bore holes. This issue is being addressed is Teclu:ical
Revision[ No. 34.
No response required
6. It appetn~s that none of the laboraton annl~•ses presented, ground venter or sza face rater,
have the TDS Ratio calculated. Please comment.
~,Vhere available from the laboratory analysis, the TDS Ratio is presented in the 2001
AHR. The laboratory has been contacted and instructed to provide this information
consistently.
7. The Division believes chat the 1999 conductivity data and [he hisloric cw+ducrivity dn[n
jor ponds 10-1, 10-.i and 10-1?show fairly signifrca+u upxrrrd trends. Ahhough ponl
/0-1 is trot in the same drainage as ponds 10-.i and /0-1?, [he tlu~ee ponds cue fittrlc
close to each other anti are c[[o+rg the same ridge lire. as showar on ~fap 4-1 of the 1999
