VI. RECLAMATION REPORT
The following information is submitted to comply
with Rule 2.04.13 and Stipulation N17 of the current
permit.
During 1992, no additional acreages were disturbed,
backfilled and graded, or topsoiled.
There have been 133 acres seeded since 1985 of 424
acres disturbed. No additional areas were planted
or reseeded and no reclamation areas were augmented
in 1992.
•
A topographic map showing contours at 5' intervals
was taken in December of 1992 and is included at the
back of this report. Cross-sections on 100'
intervals were plotted from which cut and fill
differences were calculated. From these
cross-sections, an estimated 524,000 cy of material
were hauled (from long-term spoil) to B-Pit. B-Pit
is within 50,000 cy from long-term spoil of being
filled to ash grade. The dragline was used to
remove the exposed bench on the west side of B-Pit
and to remove the virgin clay to be used as a
liner. The dragline is finished with this project
and is being prepared for long-term inooeration.
The major dirt work to prepare B-Pit for ash
disposal is complete.
The mass balance calculations estimate the amount of
long-term spoil to remain in place and not used to
be 1 million cubic yards. It is estimated that the
void left in B-Pit is 1.5 million cubic yards to
minus 2' AOC. The A-Pit void is approximately .5
mil. cubic yards. These voids will eventually be
filled with ash and part of the long-term spoil will
be used as cover for the ash.
RECLAMATION SUMMARY
•
Long-term spoil amount
B-Pit void amount
A-Pit void amount
The long-term spoil pile was
reduced the slope of the pile
minimize any erosion problems
1,017,346 cy
1,458,981 cy
495,117 cy
excavated in a way that
This action should
on the long-term spoil.
Page 9
