~.
V. WATER pUALITY ANALYSIS
• The laboratory reports of water analysis for the
previously mentioned parameters are included in the
Appendix.
The double sampling of the monitor wells using the
two separate procedures revealed an elevation of the
lead value in AMW-1 for the procedure involving
complete purging of the well volume. AMW-1 is the
only well quarterly monitored that doesn't recharge
at a sufficient rate to allow continuous pumping.
Therefore, after one well volume is purged, the well
is dry. Sampling is then conducted on the recharge
water.
The Manager of Environmental Affairs for the Adolph
Coors Company was consulted to assess this result.
The Manager suspected that the unfiltered turbid
sample obtained after purging would show an elevated
lead value after acidification from the laboratory.
To test this theory, the well was resampled. The
lab was instructed to filter the sample with a .45
micron filter prior to acidification. The Division
will be notified of the results.
• ANALYSIS UPDATE
The analysis result from the resample of AMW-1
has been received. There is no elevation of lead
value for this sample. It appears the sampling
procedure was the cause of the lead elevation. The
analysis report is included in the following page.
The sampling procedure that will be used for AMW-1
will be to completely purge the well volume. The
sample will be taken with the sample bailer after
the well has recharged. This procedure will
eliminate sampling of the turbid water being
discharged by the pump.

Page 8
