VII. ASH DISPOSAL <br />• During 1992, a total of 28,365 tans of mixed fly and <br />bottom ash were disposed in the east end of A-Pit. <br />The aerial extent of disposal amounted to 1.6 <br />acres. The only waste accepted was ash from the <br />Coors' Power Plant in Golden. The sole coal source <br />used was from Colowyo Coal Company. A grab ash <br />sample was taken at the Power Plant from both the <br />fly ash and bottom ash bins. The samples were <br />analyzed by the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching <br />Procedure and copies of the analyses are included in <br />the following pages. <br />There is approximately 120,000 cy of void volume <br />available in A-Pit for ash disposal. At the current <br />disposal rate, there is volume for four years of <br />disposal. <br />• <br /> <br />Page 10 <br />
