Waldron December 1, 1995 Re: 1995 Annual Reclamation Report However, the outslope below the Bear Creek stream channel repair work, and the Lower Hubbard Creek Fan Site, excluding the parking area, were seeded with a temporary seed mix and mulched. Seed was hand broadcast at approximately 40 pounds per acre. Oat and alfalfa hay mulch was hand spread to cover the area at approximately 3.5 tons per acre. The seed mix consisted of the following: Western Wheatgrass @ 41.7% = 16.7 pounds per acre Slender Wheatgrass @ 20.8% = 8.3 pounds per acre Indian Ricegrass @ 16.7% = 6.7 pounds per acre Mountain Brome @ 20.8% = 8.3 pounds per acre The outslope below the Bear Creek stream channel repair was seeded and mulched the week of October 25 to November 1. Actual acreage seeded and mulched is the same as the area backfilled and graded to possible final reclamation contours, depending on any further changes resulting from a Board Hearing decision, approximately 0.25 acres. Lower Hubbard Creek Site was seeded and mulched the week of September 11 to 15. By October 26, during an inspection of the site by DMG, oats from the mulch and some grass seed had germinated following an early snow storm the previous weekend. The oats will form a cover crop for the grasses during the first year. Timing and results at the Lower Hubbard Creek Site are similar to the experience with the topsoil pile at Substation Number 3 in 1994. Depending on the success of the temporary seeding, the site will either be disced and reseeded, or interseeded with the final seed mix in the fall of 1996, following completion of backfilling and grading at the Hoist Site and approval of a final reclamation plan. Actual area seeded at the Lower Hubbard Creek Fan Site was approximately 1.25 acres.
