• 3.2 Schedule
3.2.1 1997 Planned Production and Activities.
WRN anticipated production of approximately 75,000 tons in 1997 from cavities 2A, 4, and
an extension of cavity #3A (in second quarter). Mining three cavities in parallel was
planned for the first time in the history of the project. The plant was to be maintained on a
constant production schedule. Screening capacity was to be increased in the first quarter
by adding a fifth screen. A metal detector was to be added in the first quarter on the
packaging line. A second auxiliary steam boiler was to be rented in the first quarter to allow
adequate mining temperatures for three cavities.
3.2.2 Actual 1997 Production and Activities.
•
The following was accomplished in 1997:
a. Recovery well WRN 2A-2V was shut-in when chlorides in the recovery liquor
increased to a point where they adversely affected production. Equipment was pulled, with
some of it stored for possible use on the new cavity #1 A.
b. WRN 3A-SV and WRN 3A-4H were drilled as the production wells for cavity #3A.
Cavity #3A lies parallel to cavity #4 starting 130 feet from the lease boundary and heading
NNE at approximately 24 degrees. Cavity #3A was placed into production on 8/14/97.
•
7
