Map Category Acreage
Total Affected Land 119.62
Previous Reclamation 11.0
Mining 10.0
Topsoil Stockpiles 3.4
UPDATE 2000: The changes from 1999 were not very
great, Slightly more land is included in the mining
category due to some expansion on the extreme south
end of the site. However, there was also some
reduction in mining extent elsewhere. The amount of
reclaimed land has been reduced because of the storm
damages that occurred in 1999. That adjustment was not
made last year. Very little else changed.
Following is an inventory of the acreage of the
various parcels of land shown on this map. (NOTE:
Acreages were calculated using a different computer
program than was the case in 1999 and therefore are
slightly different from 1999 even though the on-the-
ground area has not changed significantly.)
Map Category Acreage
Total Affected Land 110.04
Previous Reclamation 9.7
Mining 11.0
Topsoil Stockpiles 2.9
UPDATE 2001: The mapping base has been changed to an
AutoCad format and utilizes the map produced to do the
layback plan which was approved on March 15, 2001.
One of the advantages of this system is that it shows
the entire permit area. For the past several years the
most easterly portions of the permit, which have not
changed much, were not shown.
Map Category
Total Affected
Active Mining
Revegetation
In Quarry
Land
(extraction only)
Acreage
128.5
13.7
28.74
13.1
Castle Concrete 2002 Annual Report M-77-211 Pikeview Quarry Page 2 of 7
