Ms. Christine Johnston
Mountain Coal Company
Page 8
August 23, 1996
missing from the lab analyses for one of three required
sampling rounds.
• pH, specific conductance, TDS, TSS, Fe, and Mn are missing
from the lab analyses for Upper Dry Fork Flume for one of
three required sampling rounds.
• pH, specific conductance, TDS, TSS, Fe, and Mn are missing
from the lab analyses for Lick Creek Flume for one of three
required sampling rounds.
• pH, specific conductance, and TSS were not provided for North
Fork Upper station for all three sample dates.
• pH, specific conductance, and TSS were not provided for North
Fork Upper station for all three sample dates.
5. The following analytical data are missing from the surface water quality data
in Appendix E-1.
• pH, TSS, TDS, and conductivity are missing for North Fork
Gunnison Upper.
• pH, TSS, TDS, and conductivity are missing for North Fork
Gunnison Lower.
These data are critical for understanding potential impacts to the North Fork
Gunnison River. Please provide an explanation why these required data were
not collected or if they are available provide them in a revised report page.
6. What is described in text and what is shown on Table 1.2-1 are not consistent
with the approved surface water monitoring plan for WY 1994. The eight
stations shown in Table 1.2-1 minus Gribble Gulch was the required
monitoring plan for surface water for WY 1994. Upper Gribble Gulch, Lower
Gribble Gulch, and Sylvester Gulch Lower were added to the approved plan
with TR 71, which was not effective until April 1995. Beaver Reservoir
station is not part of the monitoring plan and no sampling was conducted at
this location. Please make it clear in text what was required and what was
collected as additional data. Please revise page 4 and Table 1.2-1 to concisely
