West Elk Mine 2003 Annual Hycfrology Report <br />3.:1.1.8 Spriri <br />Spring G-14 is located in S;~lvester Gulch east of the NE mine panel area. This spring flows <br />seasonally and is typically dry in the late summer and fall. It issues from fractures in the base of a <br />sandstone bed. <br />3.>.1.9 SpYZriQ G-22 <br />Spring G-22 is located in the Sylvester Gulch drainage on a hillside on the west side of the <br />drainage just south of a mine ventilation shaft and east of the NE mine panel area. It issues from <br />alluvium over a wide azea, .and feeds a wetland on the west side of Sylvester Gulch. Flow <br />diminishes in late summer and autumn. <br />3.2.2 Sprin,Qs above the B seam in the Box Canyon Area in the North <br />Fork Drainage Basin <br />3.?.2.1 Spring 11-2 <br />Spring 11-2 is located east of Box Canyon on a hillside on the south side of North Fork. It issues <br />from alluvium below a sandstone cliff. This spring is north of the Box Canyon Panels. Flow is <br />seasonal and the spring is often dry in summer and autumn. <br />3.2.2.2 Spring 10-1 <br />Spring 10-1 is located on the east side of Lower Box Canyon. It is north of the Box Canyon Panels <br />and issues from alluvium on <.;lopes tributary to the North Fork. Flow is seasonal and is dry in late <br />summer. <br />3.2.2.3 SprinnElO-2 <br />Spring E10-2 is located on a hillside east of an unnamed drainage between Sylvester Gulch and <br />Box Canyon and is tributary to North Fork. This spring is in landslide material below a fractured <br />sandstone cliff. It is north of the Box Canyon Panels. Flow has not been observed during the past <br />3 years. <br />3.2.2.4 Spring 15-1 <br />Spring 15-1 is located on the west side of an unnamed drainage between Sylvester Gulch and Box <br />Canyon and is tributary to North Fork.
