<br />' Sr gns~ The landfill site will be clearly marked with signs <br />identifying its location and purpose, stating the operating hours, <br />' and designating specific areas for disposal of each type of waste. <br />Shelter. No operator shelter will be provided. Sanitation facili- <br />tie- s will ultimately be provided at the site for use of the landfill <br />' operator but not for the general public. <br />Future Use. Plans at this time are for the area to be filled as <br />' much as possible with solid wastes, then to be maintained by one <br />of the two following methods. Method one is a constant maintenance <br />requiring the annual application of a dust suppressant to keep wind <br />' erosion at a minimum. Method two would be to attempt to establish <br />vegetation on the site. The method used will be accompli:~hed in <br />cooperation with Standard Metals Corporation since they would have <br />been responsible for reclamation of the site if it had no1_ been <br />' utilized as a landfill. Plans for use of the site will bEa worked <br />out in cooperation with Standard Metals Corporation and submitted <br />to the State for approval. <br />' Construction Schedule. Work on preparing the site will begin <br />imme late y upon receipt of approval form the Health Department. <br />' The present landfill will be inoperable as of August 31, ].982, due <br />to the tailings pond operation of Standard Metals Corporation. <br />work required to prepare tailings pond No. 3 as Landfill :>ite No. 2 <br />' include: <br />1. Construct access road, minimum width of 20 feet and retaining <br />' (to pervent cars sliding out of the roadway) berms on each side. <br />' 2. Prepare the north end of trench No. 1. <br />' 3. Use material from trench No. 1 to build a backing and turn <br />around area for dumping into the trench. This area will be <br />immediately adjacent to the access road. <br />' 4. Prepare the surface as required to keep surface runoff out of <br />the trench and into the tailings pond. <br />' Also included in this work will be placing of temporary back up <br />blocks and installation of directional and informational signs. <br />' Interceptor ditches will be constructed to keep surface water away <br />from the turn around area and out of the trench. <br />Equipment Necessary: One Crawler dozer (City's HD 11 Allis Chalmers). <br />' Location of Work: The north end of the landfill site in the turn <br />around area and for a distance of about 200 feet <br />southerly of this location. <br />IJ <br /> <br />-21- <br />
