<br />' The average snow depth and water content for the month of February <br />are 20.4" and 9.7" respectively. <br />Temperature extremes varyfrom a minimum of about -25° to a maximum <br />of about +85°. The average annual temperature is about 36°. <br />Freezing temperatures can occur at any time during the summer. <br />During 1975, Silverton experienced one day that the temperature did <br />' not drop to 32° or below. <br />Prevailing winds are out of the southwest. During the winter, the <br />' wind usually comes out of the southeast. Extremely stron3 winds <br />are not common. <br />' Site Vegetation. There is no vegetation on the site at all. <br />Prior use of tailings pond no. 3, the proposed landfill site, has <br />resulted in clearing of the site. Revegetation has not been <br />' accomplished on the area. No erosion has resulted in the tailings <br />pond. <br />Utilities. None are available or in proximity to the site, other <br />t a~i n power lines located north and south of the site.
