i h. Construction on NaTec's natural gas service was completed on
January 10, 1991. The service consists of 2.1 miles of 4" pipeline
and a regulator and metering station. The natural gas service was
placed in operation in February, 1991.
i. A low pressure steam generator located in the process plant provides
steam to aid the vacuum filtration process.
j. Phone communication is provided by the US West phone company.
I. The fire protection system consists of a diesel powered fire water
pump and an underground fire hydrant loop. Hose houses are located
adjacent to the hydrants. Portable fire extinguishers are strategically
located throughout the facility.
• m. Process heat is provided by two natural gas fired glycol heaters. The
glycol (antifreeze) is distributed to various heat exchangers
throughout the plant.
n. The 10 acre evaporation pond receives process spitls, bicarb drill
cuttings, cooling tower blow down, steam generator blow down and
water softener regeneration waste. During low pond levels, an
isolation dike separates a 3 acre section to contain process water for
possible recycle.
o. Numerous dust collection systems are utilized to minimize fugitive
dust emissions.
• p. A laydown area, NW of the evaporation ponds, is used to store
equipment and supplies.
15
