• g. Cavity #1 produced 3,800 tons or approximately 10% of the design
yield.
h. Sonar survey of Cavity #1 was completed in June.
i. A miscompletion of well 68-1 was identified and corrected in June.
The suspended 7" casing was set into the Boies Bed oil shale marker
bed instead of above. This caused halite leaching and abnormally
high sodium chloride levels in mine solution.
j. Both wells associated with Cavity #1 passed the mechanical integrity
tests.
k. Applications to drill the wells associated with Cavity #2 were
• approved, drill pads preparation and drill..ig did not occur.
I. The leach rate of Cavity #1 was less th anticipated.
m. The bicarb concentration in the process solution was depressed by
the presence of halite and carbonate impurities. The bicarb
concentration continues to climb as these impurities are reduced.
n. The A-Groove water well produced 8,392,467 gallons in 1991. The
water quality is characterized by 720 TDS and 15 mg/I fluoride.
o. Test addition of COp to the injection liquor reduced the carbonate ion
concentration but an economic evaluation is not complete.
p. The changing market and operating experience has encouraged the
• crystallization of larger crystals and reduction of breakage during the
drying and material handling process. To this end, numerous small
9
