85 during 1993. Chloride oor~trations were slightly elevated while all other
maaa,*,ar water quality parameters were within normal ranges. Porn 12-11 was
observed with no subsidence effects apparent during 1993. Pond 12-11 is located
outside the Zane of potential subsidence i~acts. Porn 13-2 was observed with
no subsidence effects apparent during 1993. Porn 13-2 is located outside and
downstream of the zone of potential subsidence impacts. Pond 13-4, which limos
upstream of the potential subsidence zone, was observed to be physically intact
during 1993. Pond 13-7 was undermined during 1992. No subsidence effects were
apparent at Pond 13-7 during 1993. Pond 13-8 was undermined in 1981. No
subsidence effects were apparent at Pond 13-8 during 1993.
Terror CYeek
'Three ponds were monitored in the Terror CrePJc drainage (refer to Table 5 aryl Map
• No. 4-1) during 1993. None of these ponds lie within areas of potential
subsidence given minim to date. Ponds 82 and 6-5 were observed to contain water
during 1993. Pond 8-4 was again observed with it's dam breached, a condition
prevalent since at least 1987. No subsidence impacts or other irregularities
were evident at any of these locations.
Coal Gulch
Four ponds were monitored in the Coal Gulch drainage during 1993 (refer to Table
5 and Map No. 4-1j. None of these ponds lie within areas of potential subsidence
given mining to date. Pond 83 overlies an area of the East mine inactive since
1984. This pond was observed to contain water during June 1993. Pond 84 is
situated beyond the zone of potential subsidence impacts and was observed to be
physically intact but dry during 1993. This is consistent with previous year's
• observations of this pond. Pond 17-1 was once again observed with it's dam
Y~reached, a condition prevalent since at least 1983, and Pond 18-1 was observed
li
