Tess of the fourteen ponds were added
the monitoring network as a result of PR-03. Monitoring of these newly added
pords was initiated in August, 1993. Ponds were monitored monthly for water
levels and field parameters if they were discharging. Water quality samples were
collected in the fall from those ponds which were discharging and were within the
• area of potential mine impacts. Seven water quality samples were collected and
the results were consistent with analyses collected in the past. No evidence of
mine impacts was noted. The Fast Roatcap Creek ponds were physically intact
throughout 1993 and showed no subsidence effects. No retreat mining was
conducted in the vicinity of any ponds during 1993 in the Fast Roatcap Creek
drainage.
West Roatcao Creek
Two ponds located in the West Roatcap Creek drainage (refer to Table 5 and Map
No. 4-1) were monitored during 1993.
