.'
~ RULE 2.41 5 THE TYPE AND APPROXIMATE QUANTITY OF FERTILIZERS, ORGANIC
MATERIAL, OR SOIL CONDITIONERS USED AND LOCATION OF USE.
No fertilizers or other soil amendments or mulches were applied to
the areas seeded. It has been our experience that with these mixtures
such amendments are not required to produce good growths.
RULE 2.41 6 AN APPRAISAL OF THE SUCCESS OF RECLAMATION EFFORTS, AND
IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE OF ANY EFFORTS, A SHORT NARRATIVE ON THE
SUSPECTED OR DETERMINED CAUSE OF SUCH FAILURE.
ACCESS ROAD BELOW SHOP The growth along the Pikeview Quarry Road
cut slopes continues to exhibit exceptional strength and has achieved
a density capable of holding the soil under all but the most severe
conditions.
ACCESS ROAD ABOVE SHOP A portion of this vegetation was destroyed
by dumping materials over the side of the road to control some gully
problems. This area was topsoiled and reseeded in 1987. Those areas
which were not affected since the original planting have developed and
maintained an excellent density.
ORIGINAL ACCESS ROAD: Density and growth on this area is excellent
and is considered to be totally successful.
ABANDONED ACCESS ROAD: Although this area got off to a slow start and
needed minor interseeding, since interseeding the density has become
sufficient to control most effects of run-off and produce a good
cover.
OFFICE SITE: In last year's report it was described as to how
incredibly successful this revegetation project was, and this year
shows the area maintaining excellent cover, density and production.
TRACT WDT: Like the office site, this area has maintained an
excellent growth.
TOPSOIL STOCKPILE: Disturbance on the uphill side of the topsoil
stockpile in the southeast corner of the operation resulted from the
retrieval of some soil. This was graded and reseeded on May 15, 1987
in order to maintain the integrity of the strong vegetation cover on
the remainder of the stockpile.
Page 4 of 5 Permit 77-211 Pikeview Quarry 1987 Annual Report
