The
following information was observed.
Lower Sedimentation Pond No.l
1. Structural Weakness - None
2. Erosion and Vegetation - No rills or gullies oP
significance disturb either the upstream or downstream
embankment slopes. Vegetation is well established on
these slopes, and a lesser density of plant growth
occurs on the embankment top.
3. Hazardous or Potentially Hazardous Conditions - None
4. Sediment Level - 1.5 feet below the riser base. The pond
is dry, consequently this measurement includes no
estimate of water depth.
5. Required Maintenance - None
6. Discharge Structures
The primary dewatering device is dry and free oP any
debris.
Both the emergency spillway riprap and the outflow
riprap are in acceptable condition. Sparse vegetation
in the spillway and outflow areas constitutes no
hindrance to water flow. There is no evidence of
recent water flow in these structures.
7. Input Structures - Small alluvial fan deposits located
at the termini of the lateral and ditch that input water
and clastic material to the pond appear to reflect no
change from the Summer Quarter, 1994, inspection.
$. Miscellaneous - Embankment measurements confirm that the
structure conforms to Section 4.05.6(11)(f) and
4.05.6(11)(h) of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining.
