MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
A. Monitoring
The replacement wetland azeas will be monitored to evaluate successful establishment and self-
perpetuation. Replacement sites will be monitored annually for a period of three growing
seasons following construction, or until accepted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Each of
the replacement azeas will be visually evaluated to estimate successful establishment. The visual
estimates will be made by compazing mitigation drawings to actual site conditions. The visual
evaluation will also be photographically documented from established photo points. Random
quantitative sampling of each type of replacement azea will be conducted to verify visual
estimates. Point intercept lines will be randomly placed in each monitoring site. Canopy cover
will be measured using this method. The number of lines sampled will be determined by
standard sample adequacy calculations. Annual findings of the monitoring evaluation will be
documented in a submittal to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Sections 16, 17 and 9, Township 2 South, Range 67 West, Latitude 39° 53' 15", Longitude 104° 53' S0", / 7
UTM 508"°'"E °° 14fl0°"'N, Permanent Disturbance = 24.1 acres
