• mg/1 in the first and fourth quarters of 1995. The second and fourth tnia rtnr
TD6 values in MW-1 were less than 380 mg/1. Well hW-3 has TDS values of less
than 380 for the all monitoring events. This data would indicate that the
stockpile and loadout are not degrading the water in the alluvium.
EAST ROA7CAP CREEK ODidx1VI[M C~RQJHI74a~TER F[EIITORING WELLS
Shallow groundwater monitoring wells SM-5, SM-6, SM-7, 34-10, and SM-11 (see Map
No. 4-1) are located in the East Roatcap Creek drainage. The wells were
monitored for water quality parameters, water levels, and field parameters to
detect impacts associated with mining in the west pod. All of the wells were
mon.tored semi-annually for water levels, field parameters and water quality.
None of these wells are located within the projected angle-0f-draw from the mine
workings.
Water levels fran the five Roatcap Creek oolluvial wells continued to shwa
typical seasonal variability with water levels elevated in the spring and lower
at the end the year. No anomalies or impacts on water levels were observed in
• 1995 at these wells. No anomt3lies or adverse impacts on water quality
charactasistics were observed at any of these wells during 1995 as water quality
analyses yielded results comparable to previous collected data.
'yYa /~.~ r ~ Y: ~~~ .~/ C,:,~ :~:L~S M~: ~l,J \1:: h: .H^I91~~.~
Shallow groundwater monitoring wells SM-1 and SM-9 (see Map No. 4-1) are located
in the Stevens C~lch drainage. The wells are monitored for water quality
parameters, water levels, and field parameters to detect impacts associated with
mining in the central pod. Required monitoring for wells 3d-1 and SM-9 was
semi-annually during 1995 for water levels and field parameters. Well SM-1 is
located adjacent to areas mined in 1991 and 1992 but showed no apparent imgaacts
in the field data collected during 1995. Well 3+1-9 was undermined by Panel C
during 1993 but showed no apparent impacts in the field data collected during
1995. No anomalous water quality observations were apparent during 1995 at the
Stevens (filch shallow groundwater monitoring wells.
SURFACE WATER NCNITORING STATIONS - POND6
East Roatcao Creek
Twelve ponds located in the East Roatcap Creek drainage were mronitored during
1995 (refer to Table 5 and Map No. 4-1). Ponds were monitored quarterly for
4
