Permittee Name: Tectonic Construction Co. Page 2
Permit No: M-84-099
Operation Name: Bailey Pit
Anniversary Date: 09 / 29 / 1995
lake was silted in with sand and gravel that we can mine and process.
We think the property owners west of our site will leave the river in
its present location.
we will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report require-
ments as outlined in Rule 6 of the Rules and Regulations, revised
JULY, 1994.
(1) Mining continued in Phase 2 south of the river, this year. An
area approximately 6.80 acres ± was partially mined along the
west and north sides of the south lake (dark green) . As a result
of the flooding we also mined a 1.02 acre ± strip in the north
area. No new area was stripped this year. The topsoil stripped
in previous years is still stockpiled around the perimeter of the
excavation on the south and east sides (terra cotta) . We have
18.53 acres ± stripped ready for mining next year (yellow cross
hatched) . The 21.77 ± Plant Site north of the river and a stag-
ing area of 6. 19 acres ± south of the river where the conveyor
terminal used to be is still in use and will be the last area
mined as we pull out of the pit (both colored gray) . The south-
ern staging area is used to store pit run materials until they
are loaded on the conveyor for delivery to the plant. There are
7.97 acres ± in Phase 1 that is undisturbed at this time that
will become parts of Lakes 4 and 5 and 5.48 acres ± that is sod
farm (aqua) .
(2 ) No reclamation was required this year. Backfilling is continuing
in the CONSTRUCTED WETLAND AREA in the north lake (purple) . We
have approximately 16.23 acres filled at this time. There is a
small area in the southwest corner of the south lake, that be-
cause of a shallow point in the gravel will be developed as
wetlands also. we have completed bank sloping into the excava-
tion on the south lake, along the river and west side. , 4.65
acres ± (cross hatched) . All of the north, west and south shores
in Phase 1 were completed and revegetated previously. However,
that changed when the river entered the lake this spring. The
problem areas will be corrected and we will begin mining the
silted in area this year. The emergency dike will be shaped and
seeded as we redo reclamation. The seeding south of the river is
successful. We will monitor seeded area for another growing
season and if needed reseed in the spring of 1996. All seeded
area are colored lite green on the map. We will continue to silt
in the wetlands area in the north lake this year.
The list below shows the total acres under various stages of
reclamation. We have approximately 52,100 YD3 of soil stockpiled
on the site south of the river. We estimate that if mining
ceased today, 37,800 YD3 would be needed for recoiling purposes.
Most of the reclamation in the mined areas north of the river is
complete, with the exception of the damaged areas.
a. Backfilled: 16.23 ac. (purple)
b. Graded: 28.40 ac.
C. Seeded: 20.31 ac. (lite green)
e. Lake Surface: 51.32 ac. (blue)
d. Topsoil Replaced: 28 .40 ac.
f.
